It all started with the inspiring stories of my running mates in Adination Ortigas Group in their runs, wanting to increase my mileage race events and setting my personal record. Thus made me decide to join my first 10KM run.
I woke up on a dark early Sunday morning. I'd prepared my stuff the other day. I headed to prepare my light breakfast, as usual, it's peanut butter and bagels, bananas and Berocca. This is my fuel for the race. Then headed for shower, changed clothes, got my backpack and headed off to the Fort. Making sure that I will be an hour early in event place. As I rode my cab. I updated my facebook status with a message, "All i want is to make it in the finish line strongly, ready for the run." And I arrived in the Fort, I saw people arriving in and good thing, I got off the cab near baggage deposit and left my bag. Started to warm up doing a kilometer jog and then stretched my warm body. As 21K run started I felt the excitement to run.
In the starting line, the could feel the crowd ready run and alas the gun fired and then I move and ran freely in the asphalted road of the Fort. upon reaching KM 3, I suddenly felt weak and exhausted and I began to slow down. I took few minutes to regain my power and I began to take a deep breath and ran smoothly as I can. On the U-turn slot of KM 4, I'm telling that it's haft through. No giving up, just keep on running or even walking. I told myself that the goal is finish the race. On KM 8, I felt that feet is very wet due to sweat and plus I'm trying to wet my body with water and shoelace began to loose and I'm afraid that my timing chip will fell off, I have to stop and tighten my shoe lace again. I saw the 21K Kenyan runner and looking upon him, his just like walking in the air. Many people were kinda starstruck and slowed down.In the last few 500 meters, I told myself to run fast and as I saw the finish line, I shouted loudly to myself, sub 60, we can make it, strong finish.
Indeed it paid off, my result: Nature Valley Run 2010 10K run result: I ranked 339 amongst 2,343 runners with a finish time of 01:00:47 and official chip time of 00:59:15.
Thank God I made and this for Him. To mom and dad and the whole family that they couldn't believe that I'm into this addictive sport. A big thanks as well to Kowtz Luis Arcangel, Kowtz Abby Jocson and Adination Ortigas Group. My bosses and colleagues at work who supported very well on the run. My cycling instructor and classmates in Fitness First Ortigas and Megamall. Thank you so much.
Now, I'm turning 22 in the next few days. Running is my friend that I can share my ups and downs and com template what I've done wrongly, source of strength and tasting the glory of winning the race upon reaching the finish line. Life is indeed a marathon, long run that we want to surrender but we continue to conquer each kilometer each day to reach our ultimate finish line.

Yoga is a Journey
I've been practicing yoga exercises for more than a year. I learned a lot of things and techniques in each asanas, proper flow and the philosophy of yoga. Initially, I thought yoga is more of exercises and meditation but its far more beyond that. There are lot of things that other people don't know about yoga. It's really an eye opener if we discover and journey with philosophy of yoga.
There various of types of yoga exercises; Ashtanga, Iyengar, Bikram and Vinyasa. Although the poses are the same,I fell in love with Vinyasa and Ashtanga. In Vinyasa, each movement is synchronised with slow breathing and in Astanga, your strength and flexibility is tested up to the limits. Primarily my favorite poses are the warrior poses. It signifies that we are indeed a warrior, a warrior fighting for love and peace.
Going deeper to yoga, my yoga guru would always say that, "yoga is a journey, in each movement that we do, we are working to our perfection and each time we fall, we learn our lessons." This became my mantra in life, we are really not perfect in this boggling world but we are working for it. Each time we work, we came to a point of surrendering ourselves and failures. In times of this, we became stronger.
Upon knowing yoga more as a practice. I discovered that yoga is like action that we do each day. There is always karma in each action that we do like Newton's third law of motion, "in every action there is always an opposite reaction." Yoga is focused more on having good karma by putting ourselves into good deeds, self discipline, appreciation of life and living naturally with contentment in our hearts.
Life is really a journey with no turning back and yoga is my life with running. They are the instruments of being fit, in body, in mind and in soul. They are focal point in my life to avoid negativity to towards myself and other people.

Pre E-day (Election Day as in automated election) Blues
When I woke up this afternoon, our landlady handed me a piece of paper. On the paper, there was folded newsprint and in front, a stapled white sheet of paper showing my name, address and precinct number for the "E day." It's kinda sort of test permit when taking admissions exams in college or professional board exams. Good thing that Commission on elections send us notice reminding us use our right to vote and suffrage. What made me think before I opened the stapled letter is that there would like a small paper indicating the running candidate with a small amount of money and thank God there is nothing inside. The piece of paper is a replica of the voting sheet that we will be using for "E day" that we Will enter in the PCOS machine.
Up to now, I haven't decided who will I vote for the president but I have four contenders already for the post. Checking on their profile, they all came in the best schools that the world has to give. Done great projects both governmental and nongovernmental. They'd the political scene and economical scene. So here's my very own, I'll do it by color showing who they are.
Green for Gilbert Teodoro
Known as "Papa Gibo" some ladies. A bar topnotch and Harvard educated dude. I remember when People Asia magazine had him as magazine cover, for me, I was thinking who is this freaking dude running for president. He's not that popular, but when reading the magazine and typhoon twin horse Ondoy and Pepeng hit the country last year. He became famous and with very intellectual answers for interviewers, it made struck.
Yellow for Noynoy Aquino
Son of the late Corazon Aquino and Ninoy Aquino. A very silent person but came out to its shell when entered to political arena. As the only boy in the Aquino family, he assume his full responsibility as dad when his father was assassinated, He took care of his mother and sisters and this only shows that he could be good leader since a good leader is independently in the house. Indeed that democracy will be with us.
Orange for Mannny Villar
A story of rags to riches. This candidate possesses a multi-million empire in real estate. He was a controversial man in the C5 extension case. I find him to to political in helping.
Blue for Dick Gordon
I like Dick Gordon, simple man and real visionary come to reality. Like what he did in Subic. He's natural crusader when comes to disaster and calmanity with Philippine Red Cross. He's really an open handed man and willing to help others unconditionally.
With this four candidates, I'm still having a hard to choose who will I vote. Lets' think. Think for a better Philippines and better world with vote.
As a colleague of mine at work texted me this joke. There were two farmers getting rid of the grass and then a convoy passed by and stopped at them. A man opened up window of luxury vehicle and asked the two farmers, "why are you pulling the grasses." The farmer replied, we're hungry and then the politician said, come join me in my car and the other Farmer said I could not join you since I have a family. The politician replied you can bring them. As they rode the vehicle, the reached a big gate and politician said, "okay guys, since you're are hungry, can you pull my grass since they are already tall.
Let's vote wisely on Monday!

Nature Valley Run Feature 2010
In today's issue of Philippine Star, Runrio Leg 2 - Nature Valley Run 2010 was in full advertising feature. There is a lot personality endorsing the event namely Donna Cruz, rave event director coach Rio Dela Cruz, Jinoe Gavan and many more. The event aims for each runner, one tree will be planted in the island paradise of Palawan. Indeed it's really a good cause since this help us in protecting our planet in small. I would sweat out a lot for a better tomorrow.
In the column, people who endorsed it were asked "why did you join the 2010 Nature Valley Run?" For me, there a lot of thing that popped on my mine for the answer like my first 10K run event, test my myself, to have a granola bar. The best answer that I have is to plant tree in Palawan, even I haven't been there in that paradise, at least I have a tree in Palawan, my very own.
So join us on May 30, 2010 at Bonifacio Global city in Taguig for this event.
One runner = One tree! Nature Valley Run 2010!
